  • Mazal tov to Stephen and Fabia Shaw on the birth of their new granddaughter, born to parents Gidon and Atoosa, and sisters Aria and Kayla.
  • Mazal tov to Prof. Monty N. Penkower and Phyllis Mayer on the marriage of their granddaughter Elisheva Simon to Eitan Hayek, and to parents Mark and Yonina Simon and Natalie and Daniel Hayek. הצטרפו אלינו לשבתון השנתי, השנה בטבריה. נתחיל את סוף השבוע המרגש בסיור מיוחד. נבקר בעקבות נדודי הסנהדרין, בחפירות החדשות באושה שבה היה הסנהדרין פעמיים. משם נצעד רגלית אל "סלע השבת" ולבסוף ניסע לראות את בית הכנסת המשוחזר בארבל. נבלה שבת נינוחה יחד באכסניה היפה HI Poriya – Sea of Galilee Hostel, ניהנה מארוחות שבת, משעורים מענינים, ומתפילות מעוררות השראה.

Bet Knesset Emek Refaim Shabbaton

Join us for our annual Shabbaton, this year in Teveria. Begin our exciting weekend with a special tour: “The Wanderings of the Sanhedrin”. We will visit the new excavations at Usha, where the Sanhedrin was located (twice). From there we will walk to the "Sabbath Rock" and finally go to see the restored synagogue in Arbel. Spend a restful Shabbat together in the beautiful HI Poriya – Sea of Galilee Hostel. Enjoy Shabbat meals, entertaining shiurim, and inspiring Tefillot.

A Different Kind of Hoshana Rabbah Learning (English)

Just 3½ weeks till Hoshana Rabbah!

According to the Kabbalists, on this special night all the gates are open – from keter down to malchut and from malchut up to keter or, in our language, from heaven to earth and from earth to heaven. This is the night when we are totally aligned with the Divine flow. On this night we are all channels for inspiration!

In this spirit I invite you to join a different learning format: Mini-TED talks. We each of us live inspired — and inspiring — lives, not just those people who present TED talks.

You are invited to inspire us with some part of your own personal story. Not a book that you read or a commentary that you learned or a film that you saw — but something from your own life. No slides. In 9 minutes you are invited to help inspire us. There will be time for 10 presenters.

Please overcome any shyness and contact me soon if you can participate. I have facilitated events like this all over the world and they are always, always inspiring. If you don't want to speak, please join us in learning more about some of your fellow kehillah members.

רק שלושה וחצי שבועות נשארים עד הושענא רבה. אני רוצה להזמין אתכם לערב לימוד מסוג אחר: מיני-TED. לכולנו חיים מעניינים מאוד, לא רק אלה שמופיעים בכנסי TED. בתשע דקות בלבד, את/ה מוזמנ/ת להוסיף לנו השראה. יהיה זמן לעשרה מציגים.

נא התגבר/י על כל ביישנות ותהיו אתי בקשר. אירגנתי אירועים רבים כאלה ותמיד עוררו השראה. אם אינך מוכן לדבר, אז תצטרפו כדי ללמוד מעט על החברים שלך בקהילה.
