  • מכון רוטנברג מזמין את הציבור לערב עיוּן ייחודי כהוקרה ל"אבי הפסיכולוגיה היהודית" פרופ' מרדכי רוטנברג, אביה של חברת בית הכנסת – מיכל פכלר שהינו חתן פרס ישראל. הכנס הינו ערב הוקרה בהגיעו ל-90 שנה ומכון רוטנברג בהגיעו ל-18 שנה. הכנס יתקיים ביום שני הקרוב 13/6/22 במרכז בגין. התוכנית כוללת הרצאות ופּאנלים בהשתתפות: פרופ' חביבה פדיה, ד"ר עמית פכלר, ד"ר ברוך כהנא. פרטים והרשמה כאן.
  • מסכות: כעת, לפי הנחיות משׂרד הבריאות, אין חובה לעטות מסכות. בכל זאת, לאור העובדה שאצלנו יש מתפללים רבים בקבוצת סיכון מוגברת, אנחנו מבקשים לעטות מסכות בתפילות כאשר יש מתפללים רבים בבית הכנסת – בעיקר בליל שבת ובמניין השני בשבת בבוקר. נמשיך את המדיניות של דלתות וחלונות פתוחים בזמן התפילה. הוועד עוקב אחרי המצב ונמשיך לפעול לפי הוראות משרד הבריאות.
  • למרות שאין הוראות חדשות מהמשטרה לגבי שמירה על בית הכנסת לאור המצב הביטחוני הנוכחי, הוועד מבקש מחברים המחזיקים נשק ברישיון להגיע חמושים לבית הכנסת.

  • Mazal tov to Menahem and Zahava Zer Kavod on the birth of a granddaughter; a new daughter for Ranana and Hanan Erlich, and sister to Reut.
  • Mazal tov to Abby and Mordy Kehat on the birth of a first grandchild, Lavi Baruch, son of Benji and Yael Kehat.
  • Machon Rotenberg invites you to an evening of learning on Monday, June 13, at the Begin Center – an appreciation of the "father of Jewish psychology", Professor Mordechai Rotenberg. Professor Rotenberg is a recipient of the Israel Prize and the father of Michal Fachler. The program marks his 90th birthday and also the 18th year of the The Rotenberg Institute for Jewish Psychology. The program, in Hebrew, will include discussion of many aspects of Jewish psychology as well as special panels, including Prof. Haviva Pediya, Dr. Amit Fachler, and Dr. Baruch Kahana.   • Masks: The Ministry of Health has ended the requirement to wear masks. Nevertheless, because we have members who are in a high risk category, we request that masks be worn when the Beit Knesset is quite full – principally on Friday nights and second minyan on Shabbat morning. We will continue to keep windows and doors open during tefillot. Anyone uncomfortable with masking is welcome to daven outdoors. The va'ad continues to monitor the situation and to keep to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Health.
  • Security: No special instructions have been received from the police regarding security in the present situation. Nevertheless, the va’ad asks those licensed to carry a weapon to come armed to the Beit Knesset.

ארוחות לחיילים בודדים

שבוע טוב, שלום וּברכה, אני מבקשת עזרתכם כדי לספק 2 ארוחות שבת למרכז לחיילים בודדים בארנונה. שבת המיועדת לנו אי״ה היא פרשת בהעלתך, 10 ליוני 2022.חיילים הבודדים האמיצים אלה, צעירים כצעירות מהתפוצות, עוזבים את בטיחות וביטחון משפחותיהם ובתיהם כדי להגן על זכותנו לקום כל בֹּקר. אנא תעזרו להראות להם איך אומרים "תודה!"

אם יכולים לבשל, אך קשה להביא את האֹכל למרכז, אנא שלחו דוא"ל ל-shmuelgoldin@gmail.com ונשׂמח לארגן איסוף. אם יכולים להעביר את האֹכל, אנא תביאו אותו לרחוב בית הערבה 9 ביום שישי בין השעות 9-12 בבקר. .

Barbara Goldin here again, enlisting your help to provide 2 full Shabbat meals for the Lone Soldier Center in Arnona. Our designated Shabbat is this week, June 10.

Aside from the young men and women who come from all around the world to volunteer and serve in the IDF, 30% of our Lone Soldiers are Israelis whose families refuse to support their decision to serve, and thus cannot go home.

If you have never prepared a dish before, please consider doing it now. I cannot tell you how appreciative these young men and women are when I come by Friday morning with the food.

Please sign up on this spreadsheet. The food should be delivered to Bet Haarava 9 this Friday between 9-12. If you are unable to transport the food, please email me and let me know. I will happily pick the food up from you and deliver it.

  • הקהילה מאחלת רפואה שלמה וּמהירה לחברנו מיכאל אלברט (מיכאל בן רבקה) שעבר ניתוח לב השבוע.

  • Mazal tov to George Lowell on the birth of a great-grandson, born to Chaya Mushka and Yosef Yitzchak Lowell on Shabbat morning, 27 Iyar, 28 May.  Mazal tov to all the relatives of the Lowell-Lebowitz and Dubov families.
  • A double mazal tov to Ruthie Rackovsky on the birth of 2 great-grandchildren. Last week great-granddaughter Omer Esther was born to Yedidyah and Hila Schlesinger; her grandparents are Shira and Barry Schlesinger. And this week a baby boy was born to Tehilah and Dovid Kitov; his grandparents are Yoel and Shoshannah Rackovsky.
  • The kehilla wishes a refuah shlemah v’mehira to our member Michael Elbert (Michael ben Rivka), following open-heart surgery.
  • Our member David Olivestone interviewed fellow Yael Shul member Professor Yisrael Aumann. Here’s the article that was published in the latest issue of Hamizrachi Magazine.
